About the Team:
Our teams, based in key global locations, work on a diverse range of core products and services that drive the scalability of Thrive Commerce. This includes areas such as freight services planning, procurement, commerce, security, infrastructure, visibility, and scheduling. We utilize advanced optimization models, machine learning (ML), and natural language processing (NLP) to deliver superior solutions to our clients. We are seeking engineers who are eager to learn, collaborate, and build solutions with a global impact.
You Will:
- Develop highly available, secure, and scalable systems within a microservice architecture.
- Design, implement, and maintain systems that address real-world logistics challenges, including entities like shippers, clients, cargo, and carriers.
- Collaborate with top engineers to tackle complex business and technical issues.
- Lead major projects, coordinating with various stakeholders and managing phased rollouts.
- Work closely with business partners and product managers to translate complex problems into elegant technical solutions.
- Rapidly build and deploy products, iterating frequently to meet evolving needs.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, contributing to their professional development and sharing best practices.
- Ensure high-quality standards by proactively monitoring metrics and applying learnings from post-mortems.
- Address system-level challenges with a focus on simplicity and durability, while evolving legacy code into modular, composable services.
- Engage deeply with the intricacies of shipping and logistics, continuously improving our solutions.
You Should Have:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience with a strong engineering background.
- 3+ years of experience in design and architecture, with proficiency in object-oriented analysis and design patterns.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems in distributed environments.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Ruby, Python, or C++.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion for writing simple, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and a bias for action.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
- Experience delivering large-scale projects involving multiple teams and aligning on strategic technical decisions.
- Understanding of performance trade-offs, load balancing, and operational issues.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operations.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.

- Global. Previous exposure or significant stakeholdership in the global/international execution of product experiences, is a plus.
COMPENSATION
This is full-time salaried exempt role. The salary range for this position is $250,000 - $350,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications, and is bonus eligible.
